About the Pastor

Pastor & his family.

Pastor Mike was born and raised in South Africa and is a naturalized citizen of the United States. Born again at the age of 14, he has been active in serving the Lord for the past 30 years. First as a youth leader, associate pastor and as a short term missionaries trainer. He has a passion for the Word and for reaching the lost. Pastor Mike has been a conference speaker and has authored several books, including: "Such A Great Salvation" and "Where The Word Of A King Is There Is Power."

Pastor Mike's wife Jane is from Connecticut and is a powerful communicator of the Word of God in her own right. They met in 1991 at a camp meeting in New York where pastor Mike was preaching. At that meeting Mike led Jane's father to the Lord - one of the best and most cunning ways to get a wife. Mike and Jane were married in 1992 and have two sons, Drew and Kirk.

Pastor Mike and Jane see that all of their previous travels and experiences have merely been a preparation for their real calling, their ministry at Living Hope Family Church in Tucson.

Statement of Faith: What We Believe

Congregation Listening Intently.

THE SCRIPTURES: The sixty-six canonical books of the Bible as originally written are inspired of God, hence free from error.

THE GODHEAD: There is one God, the Creator and Preserver of all things, infinite in being and perfection co-equal, co-eternal: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

THE NATURE AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ is the sinless, Son of God. The eternally pre-existent Son became incarnate without human father, by being born of the virgin Mary. To effect salvation, he lived a sinless life and taking the place of fallen men, He died on the cross, shedding His blood for the remission of sins and descended into hell. On the third day He rose from the dead. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He performs the ministry of intercession. He shall come again, personally and visibly to receive all who through faith eagerly wait for Him.

THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Triune God. He applies to man the work of Christ in the new birth. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance. We believe that both the gifts and the fruit of the Holy Spirit are for today and are the rightful possession of every believer.

THE NATURE OF MAN: God created Adam and Eve in his own image. Through unbelief in God's word and the resulting disobedience, they fell from their sinless state after being tempted by Satan. This fall plunged all of humanity into a fallen state of sin and spiritual death, and brought upon the entire race the sentence of eternal death. But, just as sin and condemnation entered the world through one man and a single offense, so also perfect righteousness is made available only through the obedience and righteous act of the One Man - Jesus Christ. From his fallen condition man can be saved only by receiving the grace of God, through faith.

Worshiping God

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BELIEVER: When we have turned to God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are accountable to God for living a life separated from sin and characterized by the renewal of our minds by the Word of God and manifesting the fruit of the indwelling Holy Spirit. It is every believer's responsibility to contribute by word and deed, through giving tithes and offerings and assisting in the ministry of the church to aid in the universal spread of the Gospel.

HEAVEN AND HELL: At the end of the age, the physical bodies of all the dead shall be raised. The righteous by faith shall enter into full possession of eternal bliss in the presence of God, and the wicked, who have not received or have rejected God's promise of eternal life in Jesus Christ, shall be condemned to eternal death away from the presence of God in eternal, conscious, torment in the Lake of Fire together with the devil and his angels.
